Three different sizes of wings. There is Mom, One of the tinies and maybe the oldest baby.

Here is now a very difficult situation: Mom is on her own to take care for the chicks - We don't know where Dad owl is. Last night Mom was hunting and they all came fed.

[Annie]

Pete brought a couple of mouses to the nest cavity! That warms my heart.

[Annie]

It looks currently pretty well here.

The day is full of light and warmth, mom sleeps, she really earns her sleep, the siblings are awake, they have each other.

Teppana, luin juuri pitkähkön blogin, ja kyllä, samalla tavalla ymmärsin. Isäpöllön oli todettu olleen kuolleena vasta pari kolme päivää, kuitenkin se on ollut poissa pesältä pari viikkoa. Silloin parisen viikkoa sitten löytyi myös kuollut tornipöllö, ja ajattelin että isäpöllölle on varmaan käynyt näin, enkä enää odottanut sitä takaisin, surin perheen kohtaloa .

Nyt löydetyllä oikealla isäpöllöllä ei ollut mitään ulkoisia merkkejä, jotka olisivat kertoneet menehtymisen syystä. Sitä tullaan selvittämään. Mahdollisia voisivat olla myrkytetyn rotan syöminen, jokin virus ja sitten ikäkin. Isäpöllön tiedetään olevan vähintäin 9 vuotta vanha. [Pete kertoi tornipöllön ikäennätysten 2. ja 3. sijalla olevan 12-13-vuotiaat pöllöt.]

Pete kertoi myös, että kasvatuspesän etsintä jatkuu. Samoin hän itse jatkaa ruokatäydennyksen viemistä pesälle.

~ all is well on the home front ~
All are pleased, the cause might be an yummy rabbit. All is quiet.

[Annie]

At night Mom is out, one chick eating there very good, as he were older.

Mom comes to "the office branch" and makes the chicks hiss loudly.


Mom has no prey yet, she soon leaves.. Mom's short visit made the chick flap his wings and stretch his leg, even he couldn't do this without faltering.

[Annie]

Nest cavity filled with little owls, mom has moved to sleep at branches. At nights Mom takes care of all the little owls are fine.


They were sleeping after have eated supplement food what Pete brought to cavity.

Mom spending the day in the outdoors. The little owls get along well with each others.
